Mental Health
- Establish a Mental Health Stabilization Center to offer immediate care and reduce jail and ER usage.
- Expand mobile mental health teams and provide services in schools, shelters, and job centers.
Addiction Recovery
- Create a citywide network of access points for Medication- Assisted Treatment (MAT).
- Partner with peer recovery specialists and launch neighborhood recovery hubs.
- Connect transitional sober housing to job training and opportunities.
reentry support
- Expand a Jersey City Reentry Program, providing legal aid, housing, job training, clinical support, and case management.
- Hire formerly incarcerated persons through public-private partnerships.
- Expand access to Clean Slate and expungement programs.
youth
- Ensure young adults (18-26) returning from prison are connected within 36 hours to housing, medical, mental health, and addiction treatment, as well as career coaching.
- Create paid apprenticeships in city agencies and local businesses.
veterans
- Establish Veterans Recovery and Housing Task Force to support those who have served and are now struggling.
- Provide trauma-informed counseling, employment support, and permanent housing.
